I guy told me that I should get a shot of color put into my gray primer? I plan on going with either chevy vistory red or a bright chrysler red?
Would coloring the primer a red tint make that big of a difference?

You can color the primer but ONLY if your primer says so in the tech sheet that it can be tinted.

Dont just start dumping color into primer. Plus on PPG products, others might be different but you CANT tint with basecoat tints. You can only tint with DMD or DCC tints.

Both those reds cover great, I dont think tinting your primer will do much on those as for coverage.

My husband uses Sikkens at work and you can make your primer or sealer any color you want. If you're not using urethane primers, you're wasting your time. Another plus to colored primer or sealer is that if it chips, you will see mostly the same color underneath.
