: Fiberglass Fenders/ Bolt set?

I just got my 70 chevelle and the guy I bought it from had the front end completely disassembled. I have both the original fenders which just need some minor patch work, and I also have fiberglass panels. The problem is that the fiberglass panels have hardly any mounting places at all, just a couple for the firewall and a few that could attach to the front end. They also seem fairly brittle like if I torqued them down tight they might crack. Should I try to use these? I don't care about the weight difference, I just dont want to be going down the street and have the fenders fly off. Right now I'm leaning towards just repairing the originals and selling the fiberglass to someone more daring.

Also the guy I bought it from lost all the front end bolts, I know I can buy the resto kits from ground up but I would rather get them from the hardware store if anyone knows the sizes, or where I can find out? If I could get the sizes I could prob get them all for less than $10.

All the fiberglass body parts I've seen (besides some hoods) are JUNK. Stick with the steel fenders.
As far as body bolt sizes, it'll really save you time to order the front end hardware kit from a resto supplier. It's only ~$30 or so, and it saves you lots of time. It also looks correct, which was a plus for me.

I bought fiberglass fenders for my 69 Camaro when I restored it, and it was the biggest mistake I ever made. I ended up cutting out the framework from the original steel fender and riviting it to the fiberglass fender so I could bolt it up in the original locations. Even after I spent the hours of time to do this I still had many hours of work to get the fiberglass striaght and usable. Even after all this work the body lines still dont line up like they should. Do yourself a favor and buy steel!
