I just painted my new hood and see a spot in the front where I missed when I did the guide coat.
I can see it and it bugs me. I still need to paint stripes and clear coat. Can I fix this now before I clearcoat?
Brian, I did not see anything for spot repair in your basic of basics stuff, although there is a lot of good info there.
Looking for suggestions, besides do it right the first time? ;)
Paint is Acryllic Enamel shot Sunday afternoon w/hardner.

I guess no body knows how to do this. ? ?
Last night I wet sanded down to primer and re-filled with body filler. Blocked this down to level and re-primed with laquer sand and fill.
did this in VERY light coats allowing 5 min in between drying time so the acryllic enamel would not lift where it overlapped. Then I wet sanded this with 400 then 1000. That is where I am now.
Any suggestions are welcome.

If you applied the primer without any lifting problems you'll be alright just repainting the hood. I would wetsand the exhisting paint with 600 before applying more paint, this will help the paint flow better and provide excellent ashesion. Laquer primer and acrylic enamel paints haven't been sprayed out of my gun in many years. Any reason why you didn't use epoxy and urethane products? Bob

I have never used urethanes, but I have used epoxy primers. Maybe it is time to change.
I am just a backyard painter and I guess I am constantly stuck with left over primer and reducers/hardners for acrylic enamel and laquer stuff.
I will have the opportunity to try 2 part urethane soon and am looking forward to a perfect job. ;) tongue.gif
Thanks for the input Bob.
