Hello, I'm new to this board and I need some help decoding a rear end. I believe it is out of a 65-66 chevelle. This is a 10 bolt rear. The code on the passenger's side axle tube reads as follows: CCP0725, any ideas on what gear ratio it is? Thanks

The CCP is a 1970 model year code indicating 2.73 non-posi. A 1965 rear would have a code with only two letters. This rear would be an inch wider than a 64 to 67 rear end. The casting number on the center section of a 1970 10 bolt would probably be 3969277. The 0725 (July 25) assembly date is early for the 1970 model year, so a 1969 casting number (3959037) might be a possibility also.
Also, 64, 65, and 66 rear ends are identifiable by the flat spring perches that require retainers to bolt the springs to the housing. 67 and later housings have a different perch that doesn't require a retainer.
I see this is your first post. Welcome to Team Chevelle!
