My '68 has posts on the doors. i'm pretty sure it also has had at least one paint job since it rolled off the lot. A friend told me that these chevelles were very rare, but with my bad luck i found this hard to believe. is there any way i can check to see if these are original posts, and if so, how rare are they?

Don, I assume you are referring to the 2 door post coupe (2 door sedan) rather than the 4 door. Don't know about 1968, but in 1969 there were over 13,000 such models produced. Not that rare back then, but more so today as they are not as popular with restorers as the hardtops are.

One resource I have indicates about 22,000 built in 1968.
