I'm backhalfing my 67 GTO.I tacked the rear frame in and will weld it in soon.I figured taking the frame out will make it easier to weld and clean up.My question, the rest of the frame is rusted(but solid)I want to clean it up.Should I wire brush the frame or sand it.And what should I use inside the rails were I can't get to.I have no way to get it to a sandblaster. And I don't want to galvinize it.

Thanks Steve

Steve, don't stop short of doing the job right. You have the frame out from under the car, get youself a truck and trailer and carry that frame to a sand blaster and get it cleaned up. Trust me, the end product will be much better than the wire brush treatment.

How about Por 15.I spoke to one of their reps, they said I could brush right over the rust. But I don't want brush marks. Will it leave brush marks.

Galvanize It! Dont waste your time any other way. I will be doing my 69 convertible soon that way! Or atleast take it to a sand blaster and get it done!

If you can't get it to a blaster, buy one. I purchased a pressurized one from Harbor Frieght, less than a $100.00 on sale and did a complete car. The thing works great. I am going to use it on my 71 frame. It will save you a lot of money, not to mention as one member said, do it right, blast it.
