The lower backlite corners of my 72 Chevelle 4 dr have both rusted through to the point that when it rains my trunk is wet. Does anybody make metal corners that can be welded in place after the rusted metal has been removed? Thanks , Bill

Back light corners??? not sure what your talking about. If you mean the panel between the back window and the trunck lid, yes it is available from several sources. If you mean the back panel area on the quarter panel between teh corner of the car and the trunk lid just above the tail lights, I had a similar problem, and no, I could not find just this panel. My body guy cut out the rusted area and welded in replacement metal. That is one of the areas I to mud up.

I think a guy could make a fortune if he started repoing a patch panel for this area on both sides and the quarter panel rear window corners that seem to rot out on all of these cars.

Sorry if I didn't make myself clear. The area I am talking about is the lower corners of the rear window. There is rust there and water leaks in to both corners when it rains.

I was wondering if any one made a preformed corner that could be welded in. I think you answered my question. I guess I am going to have to make my own corners. Or find the panel you mentioned that goes between the window and the trunk lid. You mentioned that that was available. Any names you can give me?

Easy enough to make out of a spare hood or door. (best sheetmetal to make patches out of)

I did the corners on my '69 and it wasn't hard. Because of the shape, I had to do mine in 2 pieces.
