69 ss 396 :D That shows a great finished product, but I actually am looking for pictures of the panel freshly welded in before all the work is covered with paint.

Also, when were you planning on showing us THESE LOL :D

He said he has to go so high with the skin on the driver's side that I am going to lose my vynil top trim studs. How much "fun" am I going to have getting my 1/4s ultra smooth for paint? He lap welded them, with the skin going UNDER the original 1/4s.

Although they're not as extensive as 70isfine's pix, check out my pix at http://mysite.verizon.net/vze86qyk/index.html
(or just click the icon on my header).

Incidentally, Yenko, I was thinking about your original question. I thought about cutting my repro 1/4 down to the stripe line since the panel above that point was in good shape, but I didn't want to have the problem I had years ago on this car when I sectioned in a wheel well area repro panel on the other side. This was the largest repro panel available at the time (mid eighties) and it went up as far as the stripe line. I neglected to check the curvature of the assembly and welded it in. Afterwards, I realized that when I made the cut, the upper area sunk in slightly and for years I could see that that side did not stand out as far as the other (original)side. Anyway, this time, a body man told me, before I welded this current one in, that it was easier to fill an outside curve than an inside curve. He sure was right! I spent alot more time getting that inside curve below the vinyl top molding right than I would have spent on the outside curve at the stripe. Just thought I'd pass that on to you for what it's worth!
Good luck,
Rich
