Check Hemmings Motors News. I think there are people in there that rebuild them.

Did mine, don't know if called restored or not.Went to Delco shop, got a Stewart type. The cover doesn't have the delco/remy name on it.But took the cover off the old one and swapped it to the new one.Swapped out perfect. At work can get you the part# tonight if you need it.I just ask for the regulator with points instead of diodes.

There are also guys that sell rebuilt ones on e-bay. I bought one from a guy on the bay. I haven't used it yet but he guaranteed it. His feedback was very good and I saved a bunch of money vs. what I was getting quoted to rebuild mine.
