Hi guys,
I am thinking about using a 2.5" exhaust with an x pipe on a 502 in a 66 Chevelle.the car has Hedmann #68190 full length headers and magnaflow 11266's (2.5"). I am not after super loud but it has to bark under hard throttle. I really would prefer no resonance in the car thus my decision to go with Magnaflows vs Flowmasters. The question is am I choking the 502 too much? is this system too small for a 502? I thought by going with the x pipe vs and H pipe i would help eliminate resonance. Am I right or all screwed up? Any input would greatly be appreciated.

The X pipe and the 'packed' mufflers take away what I call 'the edge' off of a muffler but keep in mind you will still have resonance issues at around 2000 rpms with the Magnaflow mufflers and any other welded performance mufflers for that matter. You'll have less resonance but it will still be noticable.
