I have an automotive electric book that says not to use anything with silicone in it around electrical stuff. This is because of the corrosive properties. My question is: I have dielectric grease that I just bought that has silicone in it. Is this ok? Should I look for some that does not have silicone in it?

Not sure if you'll find a dielectric grease without silicone in it. It's fine, use it.

Silicone grease should be fine. It is silicone sealer (RTV) that gives off an acidic vapor when it cures and this causes corrosion of electrical goods.

Thanks for the replies! I will take the advice and use the dielectric grease. My main concern was using it on the 2 wiring harness plugs that go into the back of the fuse box.... Thanks again

I've used RTV beads around connector terminals for years. Can't think of anything else widely used except epoxy.
