Would it be a better idea to take a new 69 300 grill and chop it up to fix my original 69 SS Grill and then repaint? I have a picture of the orininal grill off my SS top picture and bottom of picture is the grill I was thinking of chopping up to fix my SS grill. What do you think? I just dont like the idea of using the 300 grill because of the fact that center bar is only painted and cant use the chrome trim peice, and its narrower also than the original. Iam open for options and also anyone who can do this with good results!

Looks like it would be fairly easy to do

You probably already know but the SS grills are available now.

That's what I'd do. I cut some pieces from a hard plastic glasses case with a bandsaw and epoxied them in place to repair my SS grille, then repainted it.

I think the correct replacement Malibu/SS grill was from Goodmark industries
part # 4032-050-693

I got my correct Malibu/SS grille at CB04. Fit's great, but......they had the center bar painted black instead of silver. No biggie. Just a pain to mask off and paint. You would think they would take it one step farther and do it right.

They may have fixed the problem by now.

I was trying to remember what label was on the box before I posted my reply......but it was 15 months ago and my memory ain't that good any more. I bought it from Ground Up at CB04 after "SomeonefromTyler" pointed out my grille was "incorrect". ;)
