: New 69' Elky 1/4's question...need advice

I have come to the realization I need a new quarter on the left side of my elky. I have rust in areas which would require me to butcher the area around the gas tank to fix, let alone problems with rust repair behind the wheel.

The problem is that the Goodmark 1/4's do not have the cutout for the side marker lamps. They were designed for 70-72's but can be used on 68-69's. So, the left side would not have a hole and the right side would. The problem is the area the lens sit's in is recessed about a 1/8" so not sure how cutting it would work.

Just wondering what I should do:

1. Cut out a hole in the new 1/4
or
2. Replace both 1/4's and rid the elky of the side marker lamps.

what about cutting the quater off the car as one big flat panel then cut the light recess out of the old quater. superimpose the old quater over the new quater and cut the same exact size hole out take the light recess and weld it in the new panel it shoul fit exact with minimal body filler work

Hey that's a great idea! I never even thought of that. I would be hesitant to start cutting up a fresh new 1/4 though.

i know but it is still easier and cheaper than doing both sides
