Adam Loose Sep 5th, 05, 11:35 AM I'm no GTO expert,so what's the big deal about that goat with the gold rims?
Xplantdad Sep 5th, 05, 2:13 PM That GTO was a car that was a give away car way back when. Go here to read all about why this car is so cool!!!

The reunion was a blast! Where else would you be able to see a 1968 Motion L/88 Camaro be able to do this in the Holiday Inn Parking Lot? :)

BTW, the red 1964 Chevelle seen going down the track is a twin turboed 377in small block car that flat out hauls a$$! :)

69boo307 Sep 20th, 05, 10:08 AM The drag race pics are cool, but what's up with all the dismal times... most of those cars were running 14's and 15's... I mean my '69 with a moderately built 350 in it runs 13.5's on street radials and turns 4-5mph better than most of these guys running 427's and 454's and such. I know many of them are on bias ply tires, but still, the mph should reflect the HP of the engines.
Xplantdad Sep 21st, 05, 2:28 AM You're right....most were running on skinny bias ply tires...these 2 were running in the 11's...

And there was a certain COPO Camaro running low 10's...

With the exception of a few people, most of these cars were there making exhibition runs for the pleasure of fans seeing these cars go down the track. They were not there to see how fast or who was the fastest. Most of these cars were easily capable of running far better times but the owners chose to enjoy them and not run them hard. Many were first timers who had never run before. From the starting line with camera in hand, you would not even have noticed their times as it was just cool seeing them line up together. jmo

Hey boo...the majority of the cars there are fresh off concours restorations and are worth several times MORE than my house...Friday is just a play day for them. It's hard to even comprehend the values of some of these cars, which are in the 1/2 million dollar neighborhood and HIGHER. There are a getting to be more and more of them that are taking it serously...so, if you really wanna tangle, and street tires are your thing, how about this COPO Camaro *on Polyglass*...

The results...

That same guy has a '70 COPO Nova (350/4-speed) that is a 1 of 2, that still sports it's original puny exhaust and Polyglass tires...I betcha it would have a little something for your "moderately built 350"...http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif
YenkoChevelle69 Sep 22nd, 05, 11:54 AM Whats the story on the shackles hanging behind the front bumper of that butter nut Yenko Chevelle?
Rick_Nelson Sep 22nd, 05, 3:29 PM I believe they are tow bar hooks from the cars racing days when Nick Morocco raced it and currently has some incredibly low mileage. Nick and his son were at the show I believe as guests with Chris Short and I was fortunate enough to sit at their table. Good people.

Rick_Nelson Sep 27th, 05, 10:22 AM Hey Bruce! Welcome aboard and no I did not know that was you. It was in fact great to meet you and put a face with a name. A lot of great people and cars are at this show and just an all around fun event to attend. Next year will be even better.

I checked with the owner of the Dick Harrell Chevelle (with the hood that you like. They don't make a reproduction hood for that particular model...Sorry
