Need to change colors on my '68 Malibu steering wheel . Need to go from light green to BLACK. What materials are needed? Would like to do this in the next couple of days. Please help.

All you need is some vinyl prep solution and a can of interior dye. The prep solvent I use is made by SEM and can be found at just about any decent parts store. The dye can also be found at a parts store that sells paint and paint supplies. All you need to do is clean the wheel very well with some warm soapy water to remove all of the dirt from your hands. Then clean it using the prep solvent. After that you can shoot it with the dye just like if you were painting it. Take your time and put on thin coats. The dye runs easy. It's really no different than painting a piece, just take some time with the prep work.

I’m refinishing my SS wheel also; it had some cracks in it. They are all repaired now and the wheel is already black. My question, is the die a better option that paint & why?
