I am just about ready to shoot some paint on the roof and take the car up to get the vynil top put on, the person that had the car before me knocked of all the studs along the trunk panel and on the sides, how would a shop replace those do they weld new ones on or drill and screw the pins on? should I take the car up there in bare steel top to have the pins mounted then take it back and paint the roof before they put the top on? appreciate any input.

there is a screw in stud that can be used, but most of them are installed with a welding stud gun (for lack of a better word) and should be installed before paint. I'd install them before paint either way.

I don't think the studs that go with the stud gun are screw in type.At least mine arn't.They weld on with the stud gun.I have bought some trim "screws" for the windshield moldings that I plan on using for other moldings also.Check some of the vendors,I think I got mine from OPG. ;)
