Hey guys, i was looking at a jegs catalog and saw the flaming river steering columns (pt# 898-FR20006-48) and i was wondering if anyone has ever installed one? The reason i ask is for a few reasons: I am going to convert my column shift to a floor shift, my old column is already cracked and has other problems, i would have to remove it anyways to paint it, my ignition lock is busted inside of it, mine isn't tilt, and i need a new turn signal unit too. So, when i started thinking, if it goes right in, it is worth the money. Thanks!

Hey i have a 66 elcamino, and im in the process of installing a steering cloumn in mine, its going to be a pain the get the steering shaft out, if u have headers, but it can be done. I ordered a Ididit coulmn, there are several different types, i have a tilt w/ a floor shift (hurst shifter). they also tilt and Telescoping, you can order it from them, i ordered it from Classic Performance in Anahiem, However depending on what steering wheel you have or will buy, you must make sure you buy a steering wheel adapter, so mine is a 3 bolt, there are several diffent bolt patterns, so make sure you order the right one. I also ordered the Collapsible steering shaft also. It connects to the steering box and the steering cloumn, so if or when invloved in an accident, it wont be a spear at your chest. They have shafts that will work on manual and power steering. Well heres the 2 websites, hope i helped ya, later
