In my 68 I noticed that there is a female 2 socket plug hanging down underneath my dash. It looks like a factory plug. It has 2 wires going into it. One is 12 ga purple and the other is 12 guage purple with a white stripe. What does this go to. I have checked the schematic for this car and I am not finding it. Does anyone know what this goes to?

Don't know specifically, but does your starter work OK? The only purple wires of that gage that I know of are to turn on the starter motor. They go from the ignition switch to the neutral safety switch and then to the starter.

the purple wires in my 67 go to the floor mounted shifter, I know they are for the starter.
