What does CFM and SCFM mean? I have a 7HP 135psi 11.4CFM compressor and I'm looking to buy a paintgun and I'm just lost and confused about CFM. Never had to worry about it with air tools. could someone explane what it means and how it effects your paint gun and paint job. Thanks http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif

I think CFM and SCFM mean the same thing,Cubic Feet per Minute---Standard Cubic Feet/Minute. This is just a measurement of the volume of air. A paint gun will require X amount of air measured in CFM at X amount of pressure measured in psi. If your compressor is rated at 11.4 CFM at 135 psi, it means that it will supply that much volume (11.4) at the constant pressure of 135psi . Not an expert by any means but I think your comp. will work with most guns.
