My friend just installed a new clutch in her 95 TSi AWD. She installed a 2600lb slowboy racing clutch, a fidenza 9lb flywheel, and the slowboy racing ss clutch line. First she just installed the clutch and flywheel, since the line was on backorder. After the install, the engagement point was ALL THE WAY at the floor. Car was barely drivable. Pedal also took more pressure to press than my dads 78 jimmy's clutch. The pedal is adjusted up ALL THE WAY, with no help. Point is still at the floor. With the install of the new line it helped, but not much. Its now 1/4'' off the floor, but the car is drivable. The car will not go into reverse or 1st when its cold, only after you've driven it a while. By "does not go in" I mean you have to almost break the shifter to get it into first, and it WILL NOT go into reverse. She already installed a new master cylinder, didn't help. Any other ideas?

Check out Road Race Engineering (http://www.roadraceengineering.com) they are as expert as it gets with these cars.

I just got this e-mail from the so-cal DSM web group today. It sounds like it is the same problem.

It's not the clutch pedal. I've already removed that
whole POS and had it fixed. There is no upper play in
the pedal anymore.

I'll try bleeding the clutch. What exactly do you
mean by the "hydraulics"? Do you mean the whole
clutch line assembly including master cylinder?

Thanks.
