Did you check out the question and answer at the bottom? He snapped back at the person asking. Not the best thing to do if you are trying to sell .....

Maybe that's another reason why they are not selling.

Maybe they have some strange, twisted way of interpreting what "matching numbers" means down under. :clonk:

Steve, while I understand your point, I think you're arguing semantics. There really is no clearly defined meaning for the terminology "matching numbers" as related to collector automobiles. Unfortunately, it means different things to different people. I have, quite honestly, had people argue with me that because their car originally came with a given engine, and it still had that same size engine in it (albeit from a different year and model) it was "matching numbers". And to them, it was :clonk:

This guy is very clearly stating that the car is a copy/clone, so give him credit for that. My guess is that he just means that all correct casting numbers and/or part numbers were used in building the car.

Can someone explain this statement to me???

'Yes, this is a copy, but it has been built with Genuine, Matching Numbers, LS6 1970 Components and Drivetrain."

Sounds like an oxymoron to me!!!!

I take it as a person trying to be honest by not claiming it to be factory original myself.

That's the way I read it too. Just a nice clone, with all the parts that an LS-6 would have come with from the factory. I would really like to know how an ad for a clone should be written, in order to not cause an outrage on TC.

I think it's just some good wording to catch the "off-guard" people..

This guy also has another 70 Chevelle SS on ebay. He claims it is a "TRUE SS" yet it has wood grain on the instrument cluster. I emailed him and told him that the woodgrain was not correct for SS applications and this was his reply.

"It is a genuine SS dash, but has the woodgrain inserted over the top.

We have factory and owner documentation to support this."

Now I could be wrong, but I have never heard of or even seen this "option".
