I recently replaced the flasher for my turn signals and noticed one of the wires isn't connected to anything. On of the terminals on the plug has 2 wires coming off of it and the thinner wire isn't connected to anything. Where does that go? My turn indicators seem to be working just fine.

Also on the oil/temp gauge there is a wire thats mounted to the center of the panel on the back (not to one of the gauges) that not connected to anything on the other end. Is that a ground wire? where does it go? is this why my temp gauge isn't working?

This is on a 70 chevelle btw. Thanks guys.

The one in my dash was for the turn indicators which is what has the wire thats disconnected. So that loose wire should be connected to the flasher on the fuse panel for the hazard lights? whats the purpose of that wire? both my hazards and turn indicators seem to be working just fine.

Wire is red if i remember right. Not sure how to check what gauge it is but it's the thinner of the 2 wires coming out of the same terminal. Sorry I'm being so vauge but my internet is down at home, I'm at work now.

OK... The wire coming out of the plug for the flasher IS red (well it's kinda faded almost pink), The wire coming from the oil/temp gauge bracket is Black.

Again I'm not sure how to tell what gauge the wires are. I'm assuming the black one is a ground wire, is that correct?
