hi everyone,i could use some help in the molding dept.70 malibu with original vinyl top,i'm replacing the top and the mlodings,which i have none of.i've seen 8piece/7piece /5piece sets,which is the one i need?and where would be the best place to buy them?any help would be greatly appreciated.i'd like to drill any holes before final primer is laid on.thx mark.

I have a two tone 70, same moldings as a vinyl top. I'm think it's 7 pieces, trying to remember from when I put it back together.
1 across the back, stainless
2 corners that tie back to sides, cast chrome
2 sides, stainless
2 ends for sides cast chrome

I looked to make sure and it's 7 pieces. But I remember the 2 cast chromed ends that go on the side pieces were permantly attached to the stainless strip. Some might call that 1 piece instead of 2 making it 5 instead of 7. Does that make any sense?

The small chrome ends are removable if done with care, and they are available as reproductions along with the rear corner pieces. It took me awhile to gather the pieces I needed from two donor cars, and repro rear corner pieces. My car didn't come with the vinyl so I made templates off the donor cars for hole and stud locations.
