My original 11" Delco Moraine brake booster has the words "Delco Moraine" stamped, upside down, into the front facing half, located on the round flat section directly under the vacuum inlet grommet. The several reproduction units I've seen for sale all have the "Delco Moraine" stamped rightside up, on the opposite side, and in the top round flat section. Is mine wrong or is the repro location a way around the legal jungle?

As far as I know is that Delco Moraine updated(changed) thier logo with two halfs to make the "O".As for the upside down stamping. I heard that right side up stampings were replacment covers.I Also heard that since the booster was assembled by hand they could have been stamped any old way.

I just replaced my old booster which was an original Delco unit and words were to the outside, right side up. One thing is that the 'O's were closed not open simulating the Delco emblem. I think the repo's must have opens O's for reproduction identifying. I have seen some how you have. I spoke to someone today an he too was told of your being maybe correct. The replacement I have has the Delco Moraine on a slant which looks incorrect. I would have preferred getting a non-stamped unit if I would have known.

I checked my original booster, and as you both stated, the O's in Delco and Moraine are closed. I compared it to the O's on the repro units currently for sale. Looks like two C's turned on thier sides. I guess I'll be sending my original booster out to the platers. Thanks for you input.

I got my booster from Right Stuff Detailing at CB05, and the O's are closed on it. The boosters pictured in their catalog have the ( ) type O, but I think that Dave found out that was incorrect and had his stamped properly. Call & talk to him, he'll do you right--1-800-405-2000.:thumbsup:
