Anyone ever use the Details brand of paint(the brand our sponsor Ground Up carries)? Looking at trunk spatter paints, cowl paint and such. Is this barnd any good? I also see OPG has spatter paint in the "GM" can. Preferences????????
Thanks,

Jerry,
I used the stuff from GU and was not real happy with it. Seemed to me like the 'paint' portion was very thin and semi-transparent. I had to use a ton of it (7 cans!!) to cover. I had used the GM stuff about 10 years ago on my 69 Impala and thought it was good. Went to the local Chevy dealer and they told me GM no longer made the stuff, so that's when I ordered the paint from GU. Since then, I've seen the GM paint at several places. So much for the advice of my local Chevy dealer http://www.chevelles.com/forum/mad.gif

I actually seen the GM cans, and also saw the trunk spatter paint on gmpartsdirect.com with a GM part #...hmmmm... I guess when in doubt, go GM.
Thanks for the reply Bill.

You can still get the splatter paint from gmpartsdirect.com or your local dealer. the pn#'s are 1051498 for gray/white and 1051499 for black/aqua.

Bought the stuff from GMpartsDirect. Was TERRIBLE. Came out in hugh lumps and the nozzle would clog in about 5 seconds. Gave up after half a can and went to NAPA and got a quart of "real" trunk paint (Zolatone, I think). It also had a weird consistancy and is very transparent. Sprayed the whole quart in my '69 and its VERY green looking compared to the original. But now its covered. I'll probably end up redoing with Plasticote and clear. The ones I've seen look pretty good.
