Hi all, Don't know if this is the right place to ask, but I don't have the time to restore my 70 ss 454 interior. Seats are split up, headliner falling down, carpet is frayed, door panels looking dingy etc etc. After sitting for 20 years, it is time to fix it up. Are there places in the bay area that specialize in Chevelles? Ideally San mateo, Redwood city or some place in the Bay Area. Thanks!

Maybe ask Steve's Camaro (in San Bruno, on San Mateo avenue?)... He sells Chevelle parts, so maybe he has some shops he deals with/recommends...
A couple of places come to mind, but not sure if they are still around... Not Chevelle specific...
2 shops I have dealt with for my Chevelles:
Jack's auto tops in San Mateo (California Drive, or is that North San Mateo Drive, between Peninsula Ave and Poplar, more specifically between State and Grand(?), just a few doors south of Ducky's car wash)...
He did some seats for me YEARS ago (21+ years ago) and maybe carpet?... Not sure if he is still there, or if its even the same ownership...
Another is Bill's Auto Upholstery in Burlingame (California Drive, a block north of the fire-station, and two blocks south of Broadway, across from the railroad tracks, right where the big trees start). He did a rear seat/rear panels for me about 8 years ago, and they turned out nice (had a friend that worked at the flower shop next door)...
Small jobs, but both were nice... But again, not sure if they are still in business or the same people...

a couple of doors down from steves on san mateo ave in san bruno is south san francisco auto upholstry. i believe that is what they are called. i have seen some of their work and they are a good place. i can also give you a name of a guy who works at an upholstry place but also works out of his house on his time off. he can either do custom work or do a kit for you. im sure he is cheaper than an upholstry shop.

if you cannot find anything else, PM me - my brother in law did custom upholstery and interiors for years... He's in San Bruno now...
