I have done it twice and I am currently getting ready to set the el camino body back on. I used 4x4's cut to fit between the frame rails. One suports the front under the front floor suport The one in the rear is under the floor also. On my chevelle I used the rockers front and rear. I bought the biggest jack stands I could get and some 4 wheel rolling car dollies. I got these at harbor frieght for 80.00 I think for all four. I welded angle steel to form a box for the jack stands to sit in. I can roll the body around this way. Basically it is just a matter of gutting your car and getting it off the frame. Leave the doors on but gut every thing else you can. It is a lot of work. Take your time and bag and lable bolts.

I second bagging and labeling EVERYTHING.

My car would not be back together after it has disassembled for years without having made notes and tags.

Invest in a sandblaster and some good weather or take the frame to get it done.

I also used 4x4's and jacks to get the body and frame separated. Overall, just go slow and be careful. You don't wanna get a graemlins/clonk.gif in the head by a half ton of steel when you're pulling the frame out.
