Gents:
Anybody know a good link or web site to see a sample of Dupont’s version of the factory Monaco Orange or Code 72 for 1969s? I show Dupont Lucite code as 5021LM for the 69 Color. For all the body/paint gurus what is “Lucite?” Is that just a line of paint, or a special brand Dupont distributes?? I know its a trademark used for a transparent thermoplastic acrylic resin employed in paints, enamels, and primers, but not sure if the color availability is limited to just this “line” if you will.

Also – I looked around on the boards but do not see anything that contradicts this statement so I am assuming it to be true:

“Monaco Orange and Hugger Orange are the same color (same physical properties - dyes, etc.) just used on two different types of cars – chevelles and camaros respectfully.” Would all here agree?

Thanks in advance.

I believe Lucite was an old line of Dupont, not sure if it is still available.
Monaco Orange is listed as code 72 and so is Hugger Orange,in the Standox line Monaco Orange does not exhist, but there are 5 or 6 Hugger oranges listed one with the date of 1969.
Maybe Yenco can send me a piece of his car so I can check it out!!!
Standox version is in my sig. Mike

A piece of my car? IT would be several months before I replace the quarters.

Hey Lee,

It just occurred to me that Fred Aldrich has that info on his site. Here's a link to it

And yes, Monaco and Hugger orange are the same color. I believe it's also the same as Pontiac's Carousel red

Bill,

Thanks for the link. Pontiac Carousel red - EEKK! I think I like the sound of Monaco Orange better
