Has anyone used repo 69 quarters? How do you like them? Were they full qtrs.? Did they include the trunk seal lip and how far did they go into the door opening?

TIA

I'm trying to figure out how the repos fit and what is included with them. I know the originals went from the trunk seal track to the inside of the door jam. Are the repos that big or are they just the outer surface?

I'm also trying to determine if the detail is as good as the originals and if they line up reasonably easily.

NOS panels can be had from $1,000 a pair on up. Repos age going $350-$370 each.

a FULL quarter includes all the trunk jam that you are talking about and the door jam. It goes up the sail panel about to wear the originals would have been sealed with lead. A SKIN covers only the outside of the panel (what you see) and they come in a variety of sizes from half to 3/4 etc. A full quarter will be quite a bit more than a skin i belive a skin is about 160 while a full quarter could be up to 1000 depending ive seen some for 600-700 range.

Bob,
I purchased a reproduction 69 full rear quarter in Sept. from DII (Dynacorn) I also have 2 NOS 69 rear quarters I purchased about 8 years ago that I used to compare the repop to. I have not installed the repop rear quarter yet but I did compare it to the original GM quarter and they look the same. They go all the way to the trunk lip and wrap around the rear door openning. The sail panel goes all the way up to the old lead joint. Hope this helps.

Sorry for the double post.
You will need to reuse the actual trunk lip reguardless. Both the NOS and repop do not include the actual lip. If you look closely you'll see that the lip is spot welded on.

Hey Bobbo!
I bought the "80%" patch panel from the local restore parts place. He said that's what most guys use. I suspect it's going to be some more work for me, but I only paid something like $125 each and it covers everything I need.

I haven't started putting these on yet, but hope to start within the next couple of weeks. Finishing up the trunk now. Replaced half of the rear inner fender, and will replace the whole outter fender (I think right now) after I get the old quarter off.

Days away from reuniting the body with the frame, after many hours of rust bucket revival!

Goodmark said they would have full qtrs. in March $510. I've heard several different stories that they are actually Dynacorn panels. I don't know for sure. They have replacement trunk lip gutter sets for $70. PN 4032-714-685. As I recall he said it was only 3 pieces though.

Hi bob,did you use to go on the chevelle chat?Anyway I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for those goodmark panels, they have changed the release date for the last two years.I finally got tired of them and their b.s. and got a pair of nos for a customers car.Goodmark does not stamp any of their parts, golden legion does and goodmark buys from them. The only company that has finally released them is dynacorn for the 69.Some of their stuff is ok and they are making the 69 camaro convertible body that was in hotrod a few months ago.Hope this helps.

I used the "3/4 full" ones. They are OK at best. They worked, but a full quarter would have been nice to minimize warping. The 6' long weld seam is what I really don't like about those.

If they were available at the time, i would have used the full quarters.
