Hi,

I'm not really sure where to find the VIN number on my 64 Chevelle 2dr HT. There is a plate with a long number on it on the front of the driver side where the door is connected to the chassis. It has been painted so many times it is hard to see what is actually there but I think it starts with X5737 where X probably is 4 since it is a 64. Is this number printed anywhere else on the car??? There is also a plate on the firewall, but that just contains a body number and some other numbers. Any help will be greatly appreciated...

The location you describe is the only place the VIN plate is attached. WELCOME to the BEST site on the net.
