I will be removing the tank and the lines before i weld my new floors in bec girl friend and dad thinks i will blow up the car and myself, and the tank is 35y old. Is there anything to be aware of when replacing the tank + line? once installed is there anything needed to do? is there any bleeding ?? of the gas line? or just bolt in and turn her over.

You may want to replace the fuel sending unit when you have it out. If it hasn't already been done, these things are known to go. Also, be carful not to break the ground wire that is screwed into the frame before you drop the tank, and let's see...oh and if you have emmissions, you will need to plug the outlets that go to the carbon filter. Otherwise it's just an unbolt and rebolt process, no bleeding involved.

thanks bob, i have no emissions, i want to buy the tank from ground up, they have a COMPLETE tank. Just one more thing, i havent looked at the line yet but there is a 3/8 and a 5/16 line size. is there any difference? what does a bigger size do? besides buying the right size to fit my fuel pump.

Ah, you're doing a brand new tank? well that makes life easier http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif Does it come complete with the filler neck welded on and everything? I'm not sure about the line size difference...I would stick with what you have, which should be 3/8 I believe, but may depend on carb/motor size as well. Enjoy the new tank, I will have to go that route soon with my car, but the JB Weld seems to be holding up nicely for right now http://www.chevelles.com/forum/biggrin.gif
