I'm working on a 86 volvo 240 gl 4 cyl non turbo, car just quit running! engine cranks but I get no spark, I checked the voltage at the dist. and get 12.5 volts with the key on on the + side, does this thing have a module? auto zone guy wasn't sure where or what it looks like, anyone know of a vovlo site that may help out? thanks Jim

Do you have any spark output at the coil itself? Might look into testing the coil. Those cars may not be very attractive but they sure are indistructable. They rarely ever break down and can go for 300k plus easily.

I'm getting no sprark from the coil wire. I so have 12.5 volts to the + side of the coil. Is there a easy way to check a coil?? thanks Jim

Might be a stupid question, but is the distributor turning ? Not sure on that engine, but if the timing belt breaks and the distributor is driven off the cam .........

BillK you hit it right on the head! the car was suppose to have a new belt when she bought it, turns out the belt was shot. changed it this afternoon, fired right up thanks for the inputs! Jim
