Can anyone recommend a kit for repair of a chip and scratches on the INSIDE of my rear window. The chip is on my leased car windshield and its my practice job, the scratches are on the inside of my 67's rear window. Parts storage no doubt. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/frown.gif

Gene,
I know Eastwood sells kits for glass repair, but I've never used them. Regarding the scratches on the inside of your 67's rear window, I know the general rule of thumb is that if you can run your fingernail across the scratches and it DOES NOT get hung up, it CAN be polished out. If fingernail DOES hang in the scratch, it's time for a new glass http://www.chevelles.com/forum/frown.gif. I have not heard of any epoxy type product that fills scratches like the stuff for filling chips. Good luck.

gene, dont waste your time buying a kit to repair the chip. they are a one time fix and when it doesnt turn out correct, youll have to replace the w/s.go to any glass shop, they should have a deal like it cost say 50 bucks to fix,if it spreads later or you dont like it then that 50 would go towards the replacement glass.just make sure to get a price on the glass first so they dont add a little extra.
the scratches youll also not be satisfied with the results.its messy enough as is polishing glass from the outside, just think of the mess inside. you could remove glass, but you probably better off finding another window if you went to that much trouble.
if you really want to polish the glass i have some polish i could send you.just pay shipping. rob
