I'm about 99% sure it's the short/wide.

If you go to there website they have an application chart. Which motor mounts to use depends on what kind of frame mounts you have.

Energy Suspension mounts have an internal lock-up feature. That's what you need to eliminate a breakig the mount with engine torque. The newer GM mounts had an external safety tab to prevent the motor from rocking, causing the accerator linkage to bind, keeping it open, but it doesn't prevent the mount from ripping apart. Got one of those that tore apart. So I recommend the ES poly mounts.

P.S. the old way of preventing broken mounts was to bolt a short lenght of chain from the frame mount bolt to the block mount bolt. Not needed with ES mounts.

Having just rplaced my BB, I had some experience with motor mounts (most of it bad!) From what I have been able to figure out, The short wide mounts were used in the 67 El Caminos and the taller norrower mounts wer used in the Chevelles. They are an inch to 1 1/2" taller. Why you ask...beats me! But if you ask for elky mounts (at Advance), they are the short wide ones, Chevelle are tall norrow. IMO that is why the Performer RPM and AirGap manifolds won't fit under a Chevelle hood...I have an AirGap on my Elky with a stock (SS) hood. Edelbrock site specificall says it won't fit under Chevelle hood, and doesn't mention Elkys. This is also why some guys CAN put them on CHevelles, for whatever reason they hjave the shorte mounts. They aren't interchageble, by the way unless you chang the frame mounts as they are different, too. This is only my experience.

I prefer the Lakewood Muscle Mounts. They are a harder durometer rubber with the interlocking tab feature. Yes, it is true the mounts can still separate the ruber from the metal, but the interlocking tab keeps the two halves from coming completely apart.

I can't say for sure without taking them off and measuring them, but based on the part number on my sales reciept from when I got mine (which was years ago now), the number matches the short/wide ES units. This is on a '67 BB Chevelle with original frame mounts.

snydes, think your right, mine appear to be the short wide ones,if they were the thin tall mounts-it would not line up at the main bolt hole through the frame pad,Iv got the orig 396 frame mounts--well only one way to find out for sure,to take em out!did a little holeshot(pretty brutal) this weekend and tearing up the old mounts--she hooked up so violently I inspected the whole frame for damage, among the hole drivetrain, thats ok,but the mounts are not--thanks guys--67rat

Use the short mounts for 1965-66.
To determine the short mount-measure from the bottom of the mount to the center of the through-bolt hole. Short mounts measure approximately 1-3/4".l

There are dimensions and a pictures on the E/S web site. I had the same problem trying to figure it out. THat's where I got the answers.

BTW - my 67 SB uses the same mount.
