Has this been posted already?
This guy is fishing for their value I would guess. I've only seen these on the prototype car in a couple of books. Could these have really made it through a production line.
Any comments?

Back in the 60's I worked for a guy whose brother was a design engineer for GM. He would buy some of the oddball trim / odd paint cars, drive them a month or so, then sell the. Made him a few extra bucks. I would have bought one from him, but didn't want the hassle of trying to repair a "one off" if I ever had an accident. It's just a rumour that everything was crushed. These were styling cars with a disclaimer label on the inside of the glovebox telling who to get in touch with to match paint / trim / upholstery etc.

Those mouldings seriously remind me of some other GM car from the era, might have even been on a Pontiac Beaumont Acadian.

Didn't like 64/64 Impala (or something around there) have "similar" trim on the front fender?
BTW, I can't view the Ebay auction. Just going off my memory of the Prototype vents, and that was my previous thought...

Something Buick sticks in my mind. Don't know what year or model, but I know Buford put those on.

When I looked closer at the ebay auction photos I noticed that the peices on the old car that they came off of are much larger than the peices shown in the old ad photo of the Chevelle. The ad photo shows them placed approximately 5 inches back from the door and in the junk yard photo they are only about 2 inches back from the door.

Did some work with an editor (thanks for the link).
Pretty darn close if you ask me.

Also, the ones that appear in old promo photos show the pieces as perfect rectangles. The ones for sale are tapered at one end......just like the Buick pieces...
