I need to replace my heater core after just replacing my carpet. I see the bolts on the inside of engine compartment. Are there any surprises when I take the nuts off? and how easy or difficult is it to get the interior cover off and to take the heater core out?

lastly, when I replace the core and reassmeble do I need to use a sealant on the screws?

Thanks

You will have to pull the heater box off inside. The tough part is taking the cables off. But if you take your time it's not to bad. I put clear silicone on the exterior box before I put it back on the firewall. I don't put a lot on so it doesn't squeeze out past the lip.

It makes it a whole lot easier if you take the cardboard part of the glove box out. :D
