Has anyone used SEM self etching primer in an spray can.I was going to use it in a few bare metal spots around the body filler.

My experience with the rattle can self etch primers has not been great, they may work for small areas ok but dry slow, are very soluable, and sensitive to what primers are applied over them. I stay away from them myself.

I would recommend Sherwin William #988 if you are going to use a rattle can - quality product!

Would be good for small misc parts etc ...

I second the fact that SW 988 is a good product. It spays well, covers great, has lots of bite into bare metal, has held up for some months in a few spots on my car. Good for those small areas that you sand thru to bare metal and you don't want to fire up a spray gun to cover.

The spray bomb from S-W is a good product, I use it all the time at the shop. Another good one to use would be Upol's acid etch #7 graemlins/thumbsup.gif , thats some great stuff if you can find a supplier

Thanks for posting this Johnnie. I am doing the same thing on my car (small touch ups) before shooting the Omni Cortez Silver.

Hey guys, where do you find this 3M primer in the can ? Any catalogue ? A website link would be great. Thanks :D
