I was wondering if a stock oil pan will clear the crank on a 383? I have a 383 eagle cast crank and need a pan as the pan that came off the motor is a chrome one that is killed.

Never had any clearance problems using a stock oil pan on any of the 383 we've built.

Ditto, all the aftermarket pans I've used worked fine...Milodon, and moroso mostly, 1 Hamburger pan

Built a 383 for an early chevy van, used stock pan, no problem...

Stock pans work fine, it's the crank scraper you have to beware of.

Hmmm stock pan I had didn't, I needed to dimple it in the back on the drivers side to clear the counter weight.

5.7 or 6" rod crank?
The 6" rod / stock pan set-ups will sometimes need a "tap" or two in the rear
corner :)
No big deal, it will "adjust" without much work,,
