now i need help stopping. she slides real good - but no "boom" stop like i want. thought i might as well come in here and ask the experts! :thumbsup:
Have 9 1/4 disc on the front my mechanic said yesterday. we put on all new brake lines and the booster is fine, but no disc brakes on back end. so show me the light ya'll! what do i need?
I don't race her, but i do drive fast. :D

Well Rach, Since we haven't seen or driven the car, it would be difficult to give advice over the internet. When did the car have a complete brake job last? Are the rear brakes adjusted properly? Did the last brake job consist of quality parts? See, too many variables to give an answer or suggestion.

It depends on how far you're willing to go. 9 1/4" rotors aren't much to stop a 3800lb vehicle. If you really want to stop, you need these :D:

I never heard of 9.25" disc on the front of a Chevelle. Sure they're not 10.25" off an 80s car? 9.25" sounds like for an Escort. Original discs were a hair over 11".

Choosing the right combination of all brake parts to work together with the rest of the vehicle is the most important thing. Throwing rear discs on wont necessarily help. Putting stock fronts on might.

I'm only about an hour away from Goldsboro and have been certified in brakes for many years, if it matters.
