per my Hollanders, the two door glass is different then the 4 door windshield. ElCo's and 2 drs share the same glass.

here is a list of what will fit a 2 door hrdtop:
Grand Prix 69-71, Chevelle 68-71, Monte Carlo 70-71, Cutlass 68-71, and Lemans 68-71.

My Hollander book was printed in 1971 so that is why the 1972 models aren't listed.

Does this mean that El Caminos and wagons from 68 to 72 don't use the same windshield and may have different height roofs?

AZ, according to my Hollanders, 37th edition, Yes.
The 2 dr hardtop and pick up (ElCo) use their number #3069. All 4door cars (Sedan, Hardtop, and SW) use #3070. And the vert is all by it self...
