U will probily have to have it made to get the origional lettering. I needed a non tinted one for my 69 and ran into problems with that. Only one I could get local was tinted. Thought I was going to have to get mine made, but I was able to find one altho the lettering is different.

I found one on restore classics.com. But I would like to get the correct ecthing done on the glass. Is there a company that can duplicate the correct ecthing. Thanks for any help with this question.

Pilkington Classic has OEM glass. They bought out LOF (Libbey Owens Ford) which was the OEM manufacturer of GM glass and they have a division specifically for original glass. They will date code your pieces for you as well for a fee of $50.
Here is the decode for what you have:

AS1 = Windshield glass
1-19 (is probably the dat ein which it was manufactured
Laminated means it is safety glass
M23 is the manufacturer's model number

Auto City Classics also has the glass you need with date codes... I've found their prices more reasonable..Call them both and compare...

AS-1 is the American Standard Specifications rating.
All windshield glass is listed as AS-1 where AS-2 is vent, side, and rear glass.
The M23 is the LOF model number. The model number confirms the LOF glass construction .
The date code will be two alfa charactors followed by a digit. Such as my glass has IV7. This codes out to be I = June, V = 1969, and 7= Ottawa, IL
I belive you are looking at the bottom line where it should have "Dot 15" (LOF was assigned this number in October 30th, 1968) and maybe it looks like a 19?
