: Stainless Body and Chassis screws

I know there are companies that have stainless "body" bolts and front body bolt kits but I was wondering does anyone know of a good source for the hex head GM type sheetmetal screws that are used to attach things like chassis brake lines, ground straps to the firewall, battery ground, etc..

TIA

Rod. I have been searching for this for a while too. The only thing I came up with was http://www.idxmart.com/store/fasteners3.cfm?STM=1&M=7&N=4&TID=18&HID=8&DID=63&DR =16&PD=20&SP=1 (http://www.idxmart.com/store/fasteners3.cfm?STM=1&M=7&N=4&TID=18&HID=8&DID=63&DR=16&PD=20&SP=1) and http://www.idxmart.com/store/fasteners3.cfm?STM=1&M=5&N=4&TID=18&HID=9&DID=253&D R=2&PD=24&SP=1 (http://www.idxmart.com/store/fasteners3.cfm?STM=1&M=5&N=4&TID=18&HID=9&DID=253&DR=2&PD=24&SP=1)

Would you be as kind as to inform me about the sizes. I see mentioned #8, #10, #12 and #14. Could you mail me the inch or millimeter equivalents please ?

Rob

Yesterday I found a link to : BowTie Bolts at Chevelles.Net (http://links.chevelles.net/links/Suppliers/Body_Chassis/) They list a few stainless body bolts. Also might try www.gardner-westcott.com (http://www.gardner-westcott.com) Or finally try one of the Street Rod Suppliers. They use a lot of stainless. I've had good luck ith www.yogisinc.com (http://www.yogisinc.com)
Good Luck.

Try Totally Stainless. http://users.supernet.com/totallystainless/
They have kits and individual pieces, including ARP bolts. They also go to all the Carlisle shows.

We have been able to buy them from a local outlet here in Las Vegas (Industrial Supplier), then I polished them.

As to body screws, we recently saw a '69 El Camino with stainless steel screws with a square instead of hex allen type 6 point. They used them to bolt everything you could see under the hood (Fenders, inner fenders, radiator support, on and on and on). Boy were they georgeous.

We'll search around on the internet for companies and then post them.

I had checked Mr. G's and Totally Stainless. No luck at either one. Again, some of them have the regular Body bolts but I haven't found anyone with the stainless hex head, self-tapping, sheet metal style bolt yet. A couple of the other links given, I had not heard of yet so I will check them and report back.

By the way, thanks for all the input so far. These are all great suggestions.

I just checked Gardner-Westcott again and Yogi's as suggested above and still no luck. I'm beginning to think that maybe there is no such animal as what I'm looking for. Maybe the solution is to change the style of bolt used.

Here's an explanation of what I'm doing:
I had removed the brake line bolts from my '81s front crossmember area to be able to work around the lines in order to paint and detail this section of the frame. I figured I could replace the bolts with stainless. At present I'm not having any luck finding these bolts/screws in stainless.
