My neighbor got a 454 from a guy he knows and the pistons say 7051P. The guy he got it from knows nothng about the motor and I could`nt find that number anywhere. They do have domes on them and I don`t know if they are cast of forged. Any help would be great.

7051P looks like an OLD SpeedPro number. Sorry, but I don't have an old catalog or cross reference.

4 digits and letter "P", most likely an old Speed Pro #. CHecked the NHRA & IHRA acceptable piston list - was not listed on either. For comparison, if the dome extends all the way to the sides of the piston, it is orginally for closed chambers, if the dome is inset about 3/16", it was for open chamber heads.. From there you pretty much had 4 basic dome profiles to deal with .100 = 12 - 13 CC, .220 = 22 - 25 CC and .330 = 33 CC range and maybe the real high dome stuff that was in the 40+ CC range.

Have 2 sets (new) in inventory #7051P(+030). This is a SBC 350 LT-1 (11:1) replacement forged/pressed-pin part. Thanks, Gary in N.Y.
PS. Possible it's by another vendor with the identical number, but the above number is Speed-Pro's original. The following numbers are for BB's, (396's) 7021P, (427's) 7011P, 7038P, & 7041PA, (454's) 7053P, 7060P, 7040PA, & 7039P.
