I bought a repro assembly for my '66 with buckets and a console.
The shift handle almost hits the seat in 2nd and 4th gear positions.
I may have the wrong handle so how is it supposed to be shaped?
Any advice appreciated. Rain Man

Did you buy a shift handle for a bench, or a bucket? Bench handles have a good size curve where it would come around the front of the seat, and the one for a bucket is mostly straight with a small offset on it. See pic,(console) in my sig.

Even with the bench seat shifter if the seat is up it comes real close.
