I want to repaint my dash and dash cover and a couple other little things black. I didn't want to have to order from a catalog if I don't have to can I get the correct stuff locally somewhere?

You may want to try the semi gloss instead of the high gloss.
High gloss doesn't look bad (like it's armoralled) but I think the semi gloss looks more like the factory. I belive the factory color is landau black, but I'm not sharp enough to tell the differance between shades of black.
Your local auto parts store should have something for vinyl. Make sure you wash the parts with dish soap or a degreaser, rinse thoroughly and let dry before you paint

i also want to paint my interior black and was wanting to know which black would look right in my 69 chevelle.was green, then someone sprayed it black a long time ago. did a bad job of it. so i will be sanding it all off.taking the front windshield out and get it all sanded and clean before i paint. what color?? also should i primer first?

I just did mine a few days ago (after asking). It took pretty much all weekend and turned out great. I still need to redo the chrome which I painted over, and I'm not completely sure on it yet. But anyway I used semi gloss black (all they had) but landau black is correct. I used 2 cans total but didn't do the entire interior. My actual color is sandlewood but on a convt. the dash and kick panels and a few other items are black on light interiors.

Oh and the chrome paint I got looks NOTHING like chrome! I needed it to rechrome the vent knobs on my kick pannels and I'm very unhappy with how they came out.
