hi guys i have asked this question before,but never got a definitive answer. i have a 70 chevelle ss with cowl induction. i have ( rectangular port ) edelbrock 6500 performer aluminum heads. does someone know which aftermarket aluminum intake manifold would be a replacement for the height,so i can still utilize the cowl induction air-cleaner set-up. i thought about getting an original ls-6 intake,so i could use that with the 1-1/2" spacer above the carb, but i wanted to see if anyone knows of an aftermaket intake,that is low profile,but has retangular ports. all of the edelbrock performer intakes are oval port. there is an (air-gap) intake with retangular port heads, but i don't know if it is too high. i have seen edelbrock performer intakes with the oval port head set-up and they just remove the 1-1/2" spacer above the carb. they say the fit is a little tight,but it works. anyone have some solid experience with this problem? regards, dave
