My new 496 combo consists of Eagle rotating assembly, Hays flywheel,SFI Approved Balancer, AFR 305 heads CNC chambers, solid roller .252 I - .256 E @ .050 .715 lift I and E. with 112 LSA. The correct springs were installed to handle the big lift(which the motor loves). Air Gap intake with complete MSD ignition and 850 Mighty Demon Carb. Now to throttle response question, I thought you may need my specs first! When you first fire up my car the throttle response is INCREDIBLE! It seems that after you let it warm up the worse the response gets. I mean its not terrible by any means its just not as quick to rev and return to idle. Thoughts Please!!!

Distributor springs sticking? Does it have vacuum advance? Is the ignition all new?

All new Ignition. Still has springs in dist that came with it. I have a spring kit but just haven't played with it yet. What do you have in mind?

do you have a choke?
maybe you run richer with the choke on right?
and its off when your choke is off, right?
what if you try a bigger accelerator pump?

It,s too rich once it warms up. Try going to a smaller squirter and slowing down the rate.
