So, I have this ragged old ragtop. The body has been sitting in a body shop for 4 years, collecting dust. Well, it seems that this dust will not come off of anything. I guess this is a mix of primer, over spray, and real dust... Any ideas on how to get this off of my stainless, and chrome? I used razor blade to get it off the glass.

Thanks
Joe

Well a mild abrasive polish and a buffing wheel will do wonders for the stainless. Possibly Laquer thinner as well.. try test spots.. for the chrome.. You might try that too but chrome is more delicate than stainless.. I would go too your local auto paint store and ask them about a remover that will work as well.. Good Luck.. 4 years.. WHEW..

A razor blade will work just great to remove any over spray from the windshield, follow up with 000 or 0000 steel wool. The steel wool will work also on the chrome and stainless.

I used the steel wool & lacquer thinner on mine, worked fine.
