I purchased my paint today! It's a 93 Porche Cobalt Blue PPG, It jumped right out at me. I love it. I cant beleive what 1 gallon of just the paint runs. DAMN :D I didnt buy my top coat yet. Ive heard good things about Transtar top coats. I guess they "for the most part" back up using it with a PPG paint. I've heard alot of people say it works really really well. The price difference is quite an ammount to concider. And plus the kit I was looking at comes with everything it needs, I think it uses less or has the reducer mixed in. Anyways, What do you think? Please tell me good things about Transtar top coats, because im running out of money graemlins/beers.gif

sounds like a cool color.

the only thing i can tell u is that make sure the top coat is compatable w/ ur base coat. becuase if it aint it will peel right off. other than that, have fun.

sorry i never used that type of top coat before.

Yeah Ive heard it is. Alot of people around here say they've used it with no problems and Transgo I think backs it with PPG. Anyone else heard of this stuff? :D

I would stick with the same brand & family of product if you don't want to lose sleep. While it is true that many products can be used in combination, the old rule of don't mix products unless you're ready to handle the result, applies here.

I have seen product failure even by sticking with the same brand but with different families. For peace of mind and piles of enjoyment Keep It Simple.

Just an opinion... Hope it Helps.

What do you mean they "Back it up with PPG paint"????
Sorry but mixing different products together is like playing with fire.
Sometimes you get burnt.

Ive heard of transtar paint, never used it, dont care to use it.
And who is telling you that you should mix products?? Hopefully its not a body shop and if it is a shop I really wouldnt be trusting their words. No BODY SHOP would think of intermixing products, way too much at risk and for what to save a few bucks

If you want a cheaper clear I suggest you buy OMNI clear. Eventhou i hate to suggest that stuff in this case it would be better then risking it. But thats my opinion...Eric
