Does anybody have any pictures of a 4-Point roll bar in a 1970 Chevelle? I want to put one in eventually and I really need to know where the rear legs mount. My Chevelle is going in to get a custom stereo system tomorrow that is going to take up a good portion of the trunk and cost me a good chunk of $$$. Since it is going to cost me $$$ I want to plan ahead for my roll bar. My guess is that the rear legs of the bar will go down through the rear shelf and mount somewhere in the trunk. Or do they mount next to the rear seats? I need to know this because if they do go down into the trunk I want to make sure that leave space for it when I put my stereo system together. I would GREATLY appreciate any help on this. Thanks.

Why don't you do the roll bar first?

if you want it race legal you need more than a 4 pt-or is it just for looks
i have run the rear bars next to the factory speaker holes, they have to tie into the frame to be legal-welding the bar after the stereo install could ruin some of the equipment, it creates a shield and can demagnatize stuff

The bar would be mostly for looks. I just want some place to mount my harnesses. I do a little racing, but up here in Vegas my car only does low 14 second 1/4 miles. I would look at the bar first, but there is nowhere in Vegas that has bars for my car.

Could you possibly wait a week or two and put the bar in first? (before the stero) that way you would not be disturbing any of the equiptment.

Too late now, but thats ok. I will figure something out. I will probably just have something custom made that works around the stereo system. The worst that happens is I have to modify the stereo setup a bit. I don't plan on getting a roll bar right away though. I don't know how to weld and I haven't found a shop in Vegas that I trust with anything yet.
